Gilmour Research produce the Chalmers University MTOSea website.
The Lighthouse project at Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden, is dedicated to Human Factors research, exploring the complex interfaces and interactions between people and machines. They study everything from sleep deprivation to the way people hear alarms. Thanks to Gilmour Research, their research into seafarer behaviour now extends outside the classroom into the open ocean, wherever seafarers ply their trade. You can read about it in the October 2009 edition of Digital Ship.
MTOSea.com provides the first one-to-one and one-to-many interface for seafarers that combines a social platform with the opportunity to obtain research information directly from equipment users. It offers the facility for interviewing groups or individuals, sharing and showing digital media including video combined with traditional survey methods. Having developed and launched the site Gilmour Research act as website Administrators on an annual basis, allowing the university to concentrate on its work while we concentrate on ours.
